I'm grateful you're here! Let me tell you a little bit about what you can discover here.
MANERA products are made exclusively from natural plantbased materials sometimes supplemented with recycled materials - replacing standard plastic fixtures with unique, digitally designed and handcrafted, high-strength plywood parts. Each of the products available for purchase here has some kind of experimental element that intends to go a little further than usual in the range of sensitivity, naturalness and functionality.
The mission of MANERA - STUDIO - is to spread the point of view that it is possible to design and manufacture durable, practical, truly sustainable products only in a way that does no harm to anyone. One of the cornerstones of the brand is that, in addition to the natural environment, we strive for harmony with those who live in it. Our need for objects should have a place after the respect and love of living things.

Romanian Design Week – A jövő most kezdődik

In parallel with small-scale production, the studio also works as a laboratory where the main focus is on experimentation with alternative raw materials produced from microorganisms . The innovation and forward-looking nature of these processes lies in theirfast renewableness, low energy consumption, environmentally and human-friendly production, and wide range of machinability. The studio strictly stands by toxin free manufacture. Reinterpreting the concept of “beauty” is also a goal with this experimental direction, which fits into the slow design movement along with several cornerstones of the brand.

The studio’s focus is on the educational activity related to the topic besides integrating the newly explored methods into small-scale production. I deeply believe that one of the most important and promising paths of design supporting sustainable living is biological design, which is still not extremely popular in the design scene in Hungary today. Since the year of 2017 MANERA - STUDIO - has been present at various exhibitions related to sustainable design in Hungary and in several European major cities.
